If you are a business owner, I'm sure you like to look after your team, and reward them for all their hard work.  After all - they make your business a success...RIGHT?



Showing your team some appreciation is not difficult to do.  I once  worked for a company who worked really hard at give the team lots or treats.  The usual stuff, like cupcakes or


ice creams on a hot day, cakes, pizzas and loads of other stuff - the list could go on and on.  I can honestly this company got it just right - great team morale.  And, forgive the pun, a real buzz about the office.


From those little perks, we then move on to great salary packages, pensions, private health care and the staff helpline (Im not convinced it was used all that often - but when used, I am sure invaluable to the person needing help).  


Now these staff benefits schemes generally cost a lot of money for any business to offer.  Human Resources departments, up and down the country, continue to search the markets to add more and more benefits to the scheme.


Whilst it costs thousands of pounds to run these schemes, and believe it or not thousands to provide the ice cream perks, the individual member of staff doesn't generally appreciate the true value of them unless they have had to actually use one of these valuable benefits - such as private medical insurance.
